Smart Manufacturing Architect

As part of the Customer Success team, the Smart Manufacturing Architect (SMA) will travel to customer sites on a regular basis to provide technical and functional software expertise for enterprise-wide manufacturing automation and integration projects. Partnering with the Sales team and other functions, the SMA will support pre-sales activities, software demonstrations, identify process improvement opportunities, architect Smart Manufacturing, quantify costs and benefits and develop implementation plans/roadmaps for achieving value from Savigent software and Smart Manufacturing.

Essential Functions

Collaborate with customers both, on-site and remotely to understand customer needs, map current state processes, provide technical software and functional expertise in order to optimize manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Facilitate discussions with customer personnel to assess current technology landscapes and design potential Smart Manufacturing.

Propose professional services projects including defining work steps, estimating resource needs, scoping Smart Manufacturing and estimating costs, benefits and timing.

Lead the design of software and the technology infrastructure including security, scalability, maintainability, availability and resiliency.

Clearly articulate design/architectural alternatives, issues and plans to customers.

Support on-site fit / gap workshops and Kaizen.

Design and implement Smart Manufacturing for integration with external systems such as automation, data historian, analytics, MES, PLM and ERP systems.

Work closely with project management to ensure architectural alignment with project goals and requirements and ensure deliveries progress alignment with plans.

Work closely with the Savigent Product Development Team to define and manage technical development projects to support customer needs.

Operate as a key member of a team, or independently when needed.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors of Engineering or Computer Sciences or equivalent, Master’s Preferred

Seven (7)+ years relevant competency in manufacturing improvement, lean manufacturing/six sigma and/or manufacturing software projects with experience as an implementer, process analyst, team leader and technical leader.

Five (5)+ years’ experience in executing supply chain, operations management, ERP or continuous improvement related projects

Five (5)+ years in demonstrated management consulting or similar experience (with Fortune 500 clients a plus)

Subject matter expertise in Manufacturing and Quality functionality like MES, ERP, LIMS, automated controlssystem, real-time and device communication and their integration and interrelation

Experience with web services design and implementation (Edge and Azure experience a plus)

Experience with relevant programming languages and technologies, e.g., c#, ASP.Net, SQL Server

Experience with Test-Driven Development, Agile, lean six signma methodologies

Experience leading and participating in Kaizen and continuous improvement projects

Current knowledge of industry best practices for supply chain, manufacturing operations and process management

Awareness of system architecture and infrastructure deployments

Experience leading training and presenting (demos) to key management team-members

Experience creating and driving process improvement plans

Excellent analytical, presentation and communication skills

Natural aptitude for working in teams and capacity/capability to lead teams

Ability to communicate complex issues within a multicultural organization

Ability to work under time-pressure
