Shipping Manager

SHIPPING MANAGER

My client is a wholesale consumer goods company based in NYC.They are seeking a Shipping Manager

With experience in distribution/logistics.

Responsibilities:

The Shipping Manager will arrange for carriers to pick-up orders which are being trucked.

Schedule pick-ups for freight going via UPS, Fed-Ex on a daily basis.

• Keep track of all good being shipped to ensure they are delivered on time.
• Provide warehouse with orders and specific instructions on shipping methods.
• Have knowledge of their retail customer’s routing guides & shipping requirements.
• Keep track of Bill of Ladings & tracking numbers and make sure they are received by the warehouse.
• Route and ship all customer orders.
• Create customs documents for all international customers.
• Send orders via EDI or flat file to warehouse.
• Oversee all work projects at the warehouse.
• Weekly order tracking reports for select customers.

Requirements:

• 7+ years’ working experience in distribution/logistics field.
• Logistics experience such as receiving-inbound material, warehousing principles and techniques, shipping-outbound and all related systems and tools used.
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Excellent oral & written communications skils.
• Working knowledge of EXCEL.
• Available to travel to warehouse to oversee special projects when needed.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.

Salary: D.O.E. plus benefits
