Summary:

Analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation on new and/or enhancements to existing applications, using CA Gen technology. Execute all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. Ensure tasks conform to specifications/processes and standardized best practices.

Essential Functions:

• Review and analysis of business/technical requirements and the design of solutions for new applications and/or modifications to existing applications and/or reverse engineering existing applications.
• Develop work estimates for projects.
• Create and edit functional and technical design specifications and solutions to satisfy project requirements for IT projects of varying complexity.
• Develop software starting from analysis, design, coding to deployment/implementation of the application solution and support.
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Ensure that applications and code are delivered to specification.
• Identify and evaluate vendor software and integration strategies.
• Work in a self-directed team environment, collaborating with project team members.
• Provide 24/7 on-call rotational support of applications support to users including issue resolution. Accurately repair and document changes to applications as assigned.
• Monitor system and application performance and troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields. Will consider any suitable equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• 7+ years’ experience in IT systems design and development preferably in medium to large corporate environments, including 5+ years’ experience with Enterprise adopted toolset.
• Broad, in-depth system knowledge and skills with CA Gen toolset and familiarity with Gen Proxy.
• Knowledge of Component Based Design.
• Strong knowledge of either Java/EJB/Oracle combination (preferred) or COBOL/DB2/CICS/JCL combination.
• Knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes.
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal management and project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in a dynamic self-directed team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people.
• Knowledge of transportation industries is desired, but not required.
