Senior Systems Engineer

Are you a Systems Engineer who loves staying ahead of the growth curve and relish the opportunities that come with it? If yes, then you are the person we want to talk to. In this role as a Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead the Administration, Design, Maintenance, and Support of the Splunk Oxygen Platform, a mission critical platform leveraged for global sales and marketing activities, such as demos, technical workshops, product evaluations, and more.


Responsibilities: I want to and can do that.

You will:

  • Be responsible for the administration, creation, maintenance and user support of Splunk Oxygen Servers around the Globe.
  • Have experience managing Amazon Web Services, Linux.
  • Ensure that day-to-day operational requirements and SLAs are met using Splunk related to availability, capacity, performance, and the usage of the Oxygen platform.
  • Determine security violations and inefficiencies using Splunk.
  • Manage users and user access to Oxygen systems.
  • Upgrade systems by implementing updates, patches, as well as the latest strategies and technologies.
  • Maintain quality of service through thorough testing and feedback from end users.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related projects and goals as needed, teamwork is a requirement.
  • Desire to take advantage of provided Continuing Education related to Splunk, AWS, Linux, Security, Windows, VMware, and other systems used.
  • Possess good communication skills and be able to respond clearly and professionally (both in writing and verbally) to trouble tickets and emails.
  • Perform well under pressure when dealing with system outages or any other potentially stressful situations.


Requirements: I’ve already done that.

You have:

  • Supported end-users
  • Linux or Unix system administration experience (EL or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Virtual Machines / Cloud administration (AWS / VMware) experience
  • Unix based scripting language skills (Shell and Python preferred)
  • Clustering, high availability and disaster recovery planning
  • Network security and firewall administration
  • Resource planning and forecasting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • You like to have fun and work as part of a team!


It’s great if you also have:

  • Splunk experience
  • Splunk certifications


Education: Got it!

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
