Senior System Administrator (Desktop Engineer)

AceInfo is currently seeking a Senior System Administrator (Desktop Engineer) to support our federal project, in Quantico, VA

Position Overview:

Ace Info Solutions provides IT support services to over 900 civilian employees and contractors at 70+ locations across the United States for a DoD customer. Under the Office of the Chief Information Officer we enable users to execute the mission of the agency by providing communications, networking, system support, and cyber security.

Position Description:

Under general direction, Deploys, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems in an enterprise environment. Secures updates and patches desktop operating systems, and supports the end-user community on hardware, software and network related problems, questions and/or issues. Advises and assists in the design, implementation, management, and support of SCCM (System Center Configuration Management).

Responsibilities:

  • Build desktop, laptop, and tablet operating systems baseline images for deployment throughout the enterprise
  • Configure images to meet DoD and agency security requirements
  • Test image deployments
  • Maintain images
  • Edit and configure Group Policy Objects
  • Install, configure, and test software packages
  • Evaluates requests for hardware and software; researches and recommends solutions to technology needs, compatible with the client’s technology architecture and infrastructure and resource constraints
  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user needs
  • Hands on development, standardization, and management of all client and server infrastructures utilizing the SCCM Tool. To include all hardware, software deployment, images, and patching standards

Qualifications:

  • 6 years of desktop engineering experience
  • Experience with Operating System Deployment (OSD) and the deployment of system images is strongly preferred including Windows 7
  • Experience with applying DoD STIGs to desktop operating systems
  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with operating systems
  • Experience diagnosing security patching issues including why a patch did not deploy and/or what preconditions are required for a patch to deploy
  • Experience diagnosing software installation/upgrade issues including why a software package did not deploy and/or what preconditions are required for the deployment
  • Must have a current and active TOP SECRET clearance which has been used while working for the federal government within the last 2 years
  • Must have DoD 8570 IAT 2 certification
