Senior Supply Chain Specialist

Job Duties:

The Sr. Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for managing activities related to strategic purchasing, material planning, and inventory control. They will determine and provide visibility into supplier lead-times, supply availability, and long termforecasting. They will implement supply strategies to mitigate supply chain risk and ensure continuity of supply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Manage CM and major component suppliers purchase orders to completion while resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage the supply chain for single sourced or sole sourced components, identifying second source opportunities for implementation.
  • Organize teams to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
  • Generate P.O. reports and review with contract manufacturing; ensure the CM’s demand matches Mentor and reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Manage inventory and material liability to meet company financial goals by, a) ensuring adequate inventory is maintained by CM, b) agreeing to purchasing parameters with CM / material lead time & MOQ, and c) reviewing CM inventory reports and determining if on hand and potential excess is within expectations.
  • Responsible for key strategic supplier management including working closely with key suppliers building healthy relationships and driving quarterly performance review meetings.
  • Manage implementation of supply chain strategy for cost and lead time reduction including identifying high cost commodities and developing plans for cost reduction, and identifying long lead commodities and developing plans for lead time reduction.
  • Order management: understand Mentors purchasing, processes and policies; review and approve requisitions; and generate P.O. reports and review with contract manufacturing (ensure the CM’s demand matches Mentor, and reconcile any discrepancies).


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline with a minimum of 5+ years of related industry experience in disciplines such as supply chain management or operations
  • Experience with use of major ERP/MRP and PDM system such as SAP, Oracle, Agile or Arena
  • Experience with supplier management, materials and inventory management
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning and demand processes
  • Experience working with R&D and NPI (new product introduction) Teams
  • Knowledge of electronic manufacturing services, and manufacturing processes
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Team player
