Senior Software Engineer – Backend

We are looking for a talented senior software engineer to join our world-class engineering and design team in Madison, WI. Backend developers at EatStreet create and maintain the infrastructure and processes that power all consumer-facing, restaurant-facing, and internal applications. These full-stack engineers focus on scalability, performance, and overall developer efficiency.

What you’ll be doing:
Take agency for projects from concept to completion

Manage and scale the EatStreet web stack and backend services

Collaborate with our design and product teams

Build report interfaces and data feeds

Create interfaces and designs that will be used by millions of users across the country

We’re looking for:
Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in a similar role

Mastery of client/server model a common web stack (Linux, Nginx, MySQL, Java is a plus))

Strong interest in elegant and performant code and APIs

Knowledge of production database systems and SQL

Familiarity with AWS ecosystem (S3, EC2, ELB, Route 53, RDS) and interest in scaling

Ability to work closely with and incorporate feedback from other engineers, designers, and company stakeholders

Knowledge of web security, static resource management and performance a plus
