Senior Manufacturing IT Business Systems Analyst

The Senior Manufacturing IT Business Systems Analyst will leverage past professional experience in deploying manufacturing automation solutions, such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Equipment Integration and Process Control, to analyze business requirements, formulate technical solutions, and successfully deploy them at Medtronic. Being hands-on and willing to wear “multiple hats”, this person will interact with a wide range of stakeholders, demonstrate quality in all actions, and occasionally lead small to mid-scale projects to completion using industry-proven system development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Responsible for the successful implementation and effective use of MCS’ business applications – MES (Camstar), ERP (QAD & SAP).
  • Apply ISA-95 standards for integrating enterprise and control systems.
  • Execute according to and comply to Quality Management processes.
  • Work closely with the business to understand application requirements.
  • Assist in the planning, design, documentation and implementation of enterprise applications.
  • Configure, customize and perform daily administration of applications.
  • Willingness to learn new applications and the ability to quickly adapt to changes.
  • Develops, maintains, documents and monitors procedures for all application upgrades, backups, security and recovery.
  • Perform on-site and remote technical support, training, planned maintenance and configuration of business applications.
  • Partner with IT infrastructure and network support teams to provide best-in-class service to the business.
  • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Proactively investigate business needs and application gaps and recommend solutions to management and business leaders.
  • Create and maintain good application documentation including Operator Guides.
  • Perform proactive performance and efficiency checks of MCS’ computer applications.
  • Advise senior management regarding tradeoff options driven by resource constraints.
  • Identify risk and minimize exposure across multiple business systems.
  • Serve as key participant in team meetings.
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors and peers.
  • Work closely with and manage external IT support vendors to address business application requirements and issues.
  • Other duties as needs of the business may require and evolve.
  • Occasional travel (10% of work days) may be required
MUST HAVE (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years application experience implementing and supporting MES (Camstar, FACTORYworks, or equivalent) and ERP (SAP, QAD, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in ISA-95 standards for integrating enterprise and control systems
  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases (SQL, Oracle, and/or Progress)
  • Project management experience
  • Operating Systems (Windows and/or Linux)
  • Basic shell programming
  • Basic Database SQL knowledge

NICE TO HAVE
  • Medical Devices industry and manufacturing automation a plus
  • MES consulting experience a plus
  • 21 CFR Part 11
  • System testing experience
  • Database Management experience
  • MS Office, Project, SharePoint, and other collaboration tools
