Senior Manager of IT Delivery

This more technical senior management role is partnered with a peer highly knowledgeable of business operations and process. Together their combined organization of ~200 IT professionals is missioned to radically simplify, streamline, and apply new technologies into IBM’s IT infrastructure and business processes and support for IBM’s global hardware manufacturing operations.
This organization in close partnership with our business operations colleagues is completing the successful delivery of a major strategic play and will immediately proceed to the next major phase of the project. This role has frequent interaction with all levels of leadership spanning strategy, delivery, support, and related topics. The role is a proven stepping stone for further advancement opportunities.

Experience in Agile transformation using world class DevOps practices.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle, continuous integration and delivery practices, and supporting large agile development efforts.
Setting up, managing, and evangelizing the tools and processes that enable the business of modern software development; recognizing opportunities to improve development and delivery through better tools, automation, and process improvements.
Managing large – medium sized geographically distributed teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role). Ability to manage teams in a matrixed organization.
Maintaining strong positive relationships with business executive stakeholders and product owners
This role will be based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina USA. Teams are primarily in the Americas plus at key manufacturing locations around the world.
5 + years of continuous integration project/program delivery and applying best practices and tooling
7+ years of experience building and leading high performing teams and leading individuals and teams through periods of significant change
2+ years of experience in agile delivery methodologies using world class DevOps practices
Deep understanding of software development, delivery, and support, and implementing change in global operations
Proven track record maintaining strong positive relationships with business executive stakeholders and product owners
Strong business and technical vision
Experience managing all aspects of a successful organization including resources, career planning, skills development, budgets, delivery, support, stakeholder relationships, and leading through change
8 + years of experience leading teams through periods of high organizational change such as agile transformation
Experience configuring and supporting SAP-based solution
Experience evangelizing agile DevOps throughout an organization and scaling agile for medium to large program delivery (10 to 20 squads)
Technical expertise to help guide teams in making trade-off decisions in architecture and application design
Knowledge of supply chain business processes
Experience creating and delivering strategic application architectures with emphasis on removing legacy and transitioning to new technologies and platforms
Experience leading globally dispersed and/or matrixed organizations
Passion for learning, love of technology, and interest in piloting and implementing progressive tools and technologies. Examples: analytics, machine learning/artificial intelligence, blockchain, etc.
