About the role:
A Java Software Developer is responsible for the quality and coding of software components that make up systems serving GM’s internal customers. This includes both hands-on development and testing of systems using a mix of custom and commercial packages.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8 or more years of hands-on experience in coding and debugging enterprise applications in Java

Working knowledge of the following

• Frameworks: Struts, Spring, Sprint.Net
• Server technologies – Weblogic, Tomcat, Websphere, JBoss
• Front End Languages : HTML, JavaScript, Ajax, CSS, Jquery, JSON
• Database: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PL/SQL Programming
• Web Services: REST, SOAP – Design Patterns: Singleton, Factory, MVC, Proxy, Façade, Command, etc – Must have experience working in a structured software development environment using development tools for code version control, QA and testing – At least 3 years of experience leading teams. Must have led junior/mid-level developers and be ability to coach quality coding practices
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work constructively as an individual or in groups with minimal supervision- Ability to work constructively as an individual or in groups with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Agile-Scrum development methodology
• Experience with coding and designing related to cryptography, code-signing and software security
• Expert knowledge of database modeling and data structure principles, techniques and best practices – Experience with Linux operating Systems – A bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in computer programming
