Senior Financial Analyst – North America Retail

The Canada Retail Finance Team is looking for a strong Sr. Financial Analyst to support a new, rapidly growing platform aimed at growing selection and reducing fulfillment costs in both Canada and Mexico. This role will help influence the product sourcing strategy for these markets.

This is a new role we are creating on the team and therefore it is like a start-up opportunity. It will work across both international markets and functional areas, ranging from retail to product compliance and operations. The position will build financial models to evaluate sourcing channels and the platform’s overall economic impact, as well as to develop strategies to expand beyond its current state. Additionally, it will establish financial processes to identify and communicate key performance drivers to a wide range of stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit as he/she will have an opportunity to build something from the ground up. He or she is motivated by problem solving, will challenge the status quo, and has a consistent history of delivering results. The position is located in Seattle.

Some of his/her responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Influence strategic decisions to expand the imports platform through financial modeling and data analysis

-Build in-depth understanding of the platform’s impact on marketplace economics. Utilize economics to communicate performance and drive strategy discussions with business teams

– Lead monthly and long term financial planning, forecasting and analysis for the business

– Scale financial processes to communicate performance drivers to retail business and finance teams. Develop metrics that will drive action to streamline how we source product across North America and improve customer experience

– Collaborate with the transportation and operations teams to drive identify process improvement opportunities and cost savings initiatives

– Lead monthly and quarterly financial review meetings with stakeholders and develop action plans

– Additional responsibilities include ad analyses that help drive Free Cash Flow.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Minimum of 6 years of strong, progressive finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience and Proficiency with SQL required
  • Excellent written and oral communication and poise to support Executive reviews
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable items
  • Experience with financial and accounting systems (COGNOS, Essbase, Oracle)
  • Direct experience in Retail or Operations (FC, Trans, Supply Chain) a strong plus but not necessary
  • Strong analytic skills and a demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams, dive deep into the details
