Senior Engineer

American Express Travel Related Services seeks a Senior Engineer to lead the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of work efforts for customer-facing, business, and internal end-user applications in an Agile environment. Analyze requirements and user stories to support design activities. Perform all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications. Perform hands-on architecture, design, and development of systems. Drive consistent development practices for tools, common components, and documentation. Spend majority of time writing code and testing, and remainder of time collaborating with stakeholders through ongoing product and platform releases. Define the integration build, and produce a build definition to generate software in collaboration with Architects. Perform unit and assembly testing of software components. Conduct code reviews and build test automation tools. Perform ongoing refactoring of code and continuously improve products. Provide continuous support for ongoing application availability. Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, followed by 6 years of progressively responsible software engineering experience. Experience must include working with Mainframe, including JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS and IMS DB. Experience working with distributed multi-tiered systems, algorithms, message queuing, and relational/XML databases is required.
