Senior Designer – Project Manager (Interior Design)

The overall scope of this position is to communicate and direct clearly with team, clients, and vendors and assure 100% accuracy and completeness in design intent, project binders, schedules and drawings. Working hand in hand with the CEO and Design Manager, also while being accountable for team management from design concept to completion. You will oversee the Design Assistants and work along the Junior Designers to make sure they are meeting deadlines, and assisting to make sure projects are completed effectively and accurately. Listening intently and communicating directly with our clients to insure their design needs are met, and executed upon according to the budget and scope of the project.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for a complete design package review of schedules, drawings and projects binders for accuracy and completion with Design Manager and ready for CEO’s final review and approval.
  • Troubleshooting with vendors, contractors, architects and tending to all issues regarding materials, plumbing, and appliances during the construction phase of the project.
  • Draft elevations and details as needed to resolve issues and complete packages.
  • Construction and Job Site Management.
  • Oversee the preselection of materials, plumbing and appliances for client projects based on the design and concept plans.
  • Attending client meetings with Owner to present selected materials, plumbing and appliances, and getting approval for the items chosen.
  • Providing the Junior Designers with all selected items and sizes to be drafted in plans accurately.
  • Providing the Design Assistants with all selected items to be placed in schedules and quoted out.
  • Obtain specs, pricing, and quotes for items if needed.
  • Meeting with vendors to learn about new product offerings to share with Design Tea.

Requirements

  • Academic/Technical Qualifications – College Degree in Design, or similar field.
  • Knowledge and Experience – 5+ years of Design experience preferred, experience in Job Site Management is a must. Familiarity with vendors and products in the design industry is a plus.
  • Computer and Software Skills – AutoCad, MAC & PC computers, Microsoft Office Suite proficient, especially Excel.
  • Communication Skills – Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and vendors is a must for success in this position. Listening intently and excellent follow up is essential. You must be able to clearly and accurately communicate with the design team to resolve any concerns as they arise and to interact with clients in a polite and professional manner.
  • Attitudes and Behavior – Desired attitudes and behaviors include the ability to work well in teams, be a self-starter, be pleasant, helpful and optimistic, require minimal supervision, and have strong organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 to $70,000.00 /year
