Oracle Management Cloud (
OMC
) is a suite of next-generation, integrated monitoring, management and analytics solutions delivered as a service on Oracle Cloud. Oracle Application Performance Monitoring (
APM
) Cloud Service provides development and operations teams with the information that they need to find and fix application issues fast, via deep visibility into your application performance from end user experience, through application server requests, and down to application logs. With Oracle Application Performance Monitoring Cloud Service sites can isolate problems before they impact your business, break down the barriers between Development and Operations teams, and deliver better applications.

We are looking for talented, system software engineers to join the APM team.

Engineers on this team help design, build, and scale the distributed systems, high-throughput services, and operational capabilities that make OMC and APM tick. The successful candidate will have a track record of designing, implementing, delivering, and supporting enterprise system software via continuous delivery.

All of our services are written in Java. They are all replicated, stateless, highly scalable, multi-tenant, fault tolerant, and are deployed as part of the Oracle Management Cloud where they are available to customers on the Oracle Public Cloud.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering and supporting enterprise system software over multiple release cycles and possess a deep knowledge of and experience with RDBMS technology, preferably Oracle. Experience with real-time data ingestion, the impacts of schema design, and performance tuning is critical. Expertise about queries dealing with time-series data and rollup is desirable.

use of REST API’s as a communication between services

use of JSON formatted data as the payload of those REST API’s

Proficient development skills across multiple object oriented languages – Java expertise

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 more years of software engineering or related experience.
