Senior Clinical Business Enablement Consultant

The Senior Business Analysis Consultant is responsible for supporting the technology needs of clinical operations as part of the Clinical Self Service team. The role supports the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Integration with Medical Prior Authorization Program, which is technology that enables providers to receive prior authorization determinations from within their internal EMR system. The role has direct interaction with business partners and Subject Matter Experts to understand and define business needs for system enhancements.

The Senior Business Analysis Consultant must possess expertise and detailed knowledge of the system functionality supported so they can troubleshoot system issues, assess impact from requested changes, provide estimates, and perform testing. This position will also work with business and users to recommend and drive strategies for optimizing the use of the system. As a key resource and mentor to others, the role must maintain a high degree of accuracy and technical competence; possess superior attention to detail, and exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills. The Analyst must have strong interpersonal skills, and have the ability to consistently meet deadlines. Business Analysis support for all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle will be provided, and includes serving as an Agile Product Owner.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Driving requirement gathering and analyzing business requirements for system enhancements on behalf of the Clinical business
  • Serving as an Agile Product Owner to provide guidance to the scrum teams
  • Conducting analysis on complex business problems, and making recommendations on solutions
  • Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for the applications and technologies supported
  • Mapping current and future state business workflows
  • Coordinating production issue analysis, impact assessment, prioritization, timely resolution, testing, implementation, and communications
  • Coordinating the impact assessment and support of other programs that may have impact to the technologies supported
  • Assisting business with strategic technology planning to streamline and improve business operations
  • Managing and tracking enhancements and technology roadmap
  • Gathering supporting information for business case creation
  • Creating and presenting program level updates to leadership
  • Performing User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements
  • Mentoring other Business Analysts, and setting a strong example for SDLC process, and business interactions


Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Technology, Clinical, or related field
  • 8 or more years of experience eliciting and writing business requirements, documenting business process, or systems analysis
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Lead Business Analyst or an Agile Product Owner role that supports a technology application
  • 5 or more years of experience mapping business process
  • 1 or more years of experience supporting technologies within an Agile framework
  • 1 or more years of experience performing User Acceptance Testing or QA testing
  • Intermediate experience using MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Powerpoint
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions
  • Reporting and data analytics experience
  • Prior experience supporting healthcare or clinical systems or technologies
  • Project management or project coordination experience
  • Experience working with external software vendors
  • Ability to strategize and think big picture
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated creative problem solving skills, adapting approach as needed for each engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work at all levels within a team structure
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Fast learner, analytical thinker, very detail oriented
  • Ability to work with technical teams and understand technical details
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely and persuasively at all levels of an organization
