Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Position Summary:

Develop, maintain and provide thought leadership of HealthPoint’s BI (Business Intelligence) solutions, including but not limited to production reports, ad hoc reports/analyses and data extracts. Guide users throughout the organization on choosing and working with the right BI tools and techniques, and drive adoption of BI platforms.

Your contribution to the team includes:

  • Create, maintain and own the data outputs and solutions for dashboards, reports and data sources in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), PBIRS (Power BI Reporting Services) and/or Power BI Service.
  • Manage the enterprise data collections in order to address requests appropriately, including change management, expertise and training of report/data inventories and ad hoc solutions, and maintenance of report catalogs, data catalogs, documentation and metadata.
  • Manage SSRS and Power BI administrative functions and develop enterprise standards and templates, including tenant settings, workspace management, and distribution options.
  • Work with other team members and resources on application workflows, data collection processes and developing reusable data sources.
  • Meet with requestors and stakeholders to define data and reporting needs while addressing gaps in current systems/practices.
  • Analyze data and the business processes behind the data in order to facilitate data quality and correct interpretation of information.
  • Support the organization’s data needs by guiding and educating business users on modern BI practices, tools and techniques, and driving an organizational transformation towards data literacy and competency.
  • Partner with business customers to identify, implement and support a lean, balanced model of information/data governance.
  • Identify additional project opportunities to bring value to the organization, by working with customers, analyzing data and understanding business challenges.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and consultation in work groups and special projects.
  • Maintain good attendance, is punctual and works full scheduled shift is a condition of employment.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Must have’s you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or quantitative discipline such as Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics required.
  • May be substituted with a combination of six years of highly relevant experience, in which four years include clinical information systems, health data reporting, statistical analysis and/or forecasting/predictive modeling.
  • Minimum of six years’ direct experience with SSRS and/or data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Solid knowledge of relational and dimensional database concepts, ETL processes, data cubes, data modeling and report development.
  • Microsoft BI-stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS – 2012+)
  • If you know about the following it’s a plus:

  • One of the following or equivalent to Microsoft MCSA: BI Development or Microsoft MCSE: Data Management and Analytics, Business Intelligence
  • SQL Server 2017, Microsoft Visual Studio and/or SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools)
  • Electronic Health Records/Practice Management experience required, preferably NextGen Systems (EHR, EDR, EPM, and/or Report Server).
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard tools such as Tableau or Power BI, Power Query/M, DAX and Python
  • Understanding of modern data architecture, DevOps, and DataOps
