Senior BI/ETL Developer IV (R18-275)

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst at Portland General Electric performs application administration of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence initiatives and products at PGE. This role serves on the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence team on the IT side. The BI Analyst partners with the business leaders, analysts, product owners and technical staff throughout the company to design, support and implement short- and long-term strategies, and solutions, provide customer support to information technology (IT) needs through new and existing applications and infrastructure.

This position is accountable for planning, designing, configuring, developing, testing, deploying and supporting ETL/BI solutions using the following applications: ODI, Informatica, OBIEE, OUA and Tableau within the organization. This experienced analyst is assigned more complex assignments to maintain or improve the operation, reliability and regulatory compliance of PGE’s Business Intelligence products and solutions.

You will support our journey by:

  • Must to have managed/ implemented minimum one end to end OUA Implementation using Oracle NMS/CCB/MDM/PeopleSoft as source system.
  • Must have used OBIEE 11G/12C and have hands on experience with OUA configurations and ODI.
  • Ability to translate requirements from product owner (business analyst) to high-level technical design.
  • Development of ODI Interfaces, Procedures, Packages, and Scenarios utilizing technologies such as Oracle database, flat files and XML Files.
  • Design, implement, code, test and maintain Oracle PL/SQL and Unix Script code and functionality.
  • Experience developing file transfer processes utilizing FTP and SFPT protocols.
  • Design build and maintain data extraction, transformation & loading (ETL) methods using BI tools (ODI and Informatica).
  • Models, configures and optimizes the RPD from Data Warehouse (OLAP).
  • Design, development and implement dashboards, metrics and scorecards using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Provide functional administration for the OBIEE environment.
  • Apex Development and Deployment.
  • Strong commination skills, ability to train business users.
  • Experience in Performance Tuning of Oracle and SQL Server Databases.
  • Maintain application support processes, and check that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures. Use application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports (20%).
  • Maintain secure configuration, apply and maintain tools, techniques and processes to identify, track, log and maintain accurate, complete and current information (15%).
  • Prioritize and diagnose incidents according to agreed procedures. Investigate causes of incidents and seek resolution. Escalate unresolved incidents. Facilitate recovery, following resolution of incidents. Document and closes resolved incidents according to agreed procedures (10%)
  • Ensure proper controls are established and maintained over test and production systems and software source code (10%)
  • Provide high-quality consultative services to internal IT and business users to guide and influence the detailed design   specifications for the BI Software and Solutions (10%)

You will bring the following skills to our team:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering Management or equivalent work experience in related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle Data Integrator 11g and above.
  • 5+ years of experience with Informatica.
  • Requires knowledge and experience with ODI, Informatica, OBIEE, Apex and Tableau toolsets.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix Shell scripting and Oracle Apex Development and Deployment.
  • Requires experience on Oracle Development Suite (SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, Trigger, Function, Procedure / Package Definition)
  • Deep understanding of Dimensional modeling, data warehouse design, and Kimball practices. * Knowledge with Oracle Utilities applications like CC&B, MWM, and MDM etc. is a big plus.
  • Knowledge with Oracle Golden Gate is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a leader in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven budget and cost management experience.
