SAP Solution Manager/BASIS Professional

Job Description:

CACI is looking for an SAP Solution Manger and ChaRM professional with the strategic skills and experience to plan, design, implement and maintain these SAP solutions for our clients using SAP and system development life cycle best practices. Under the direction of the Basis Team Lead, this Solution Manger and ChaRM professional will work with other members of the Technical Teams to implement, integrate and enhance the next generation of Solution Manager technologies into the client’s enterprise environment in an evolutionary manner to ensure smooth transition into production operations.

Duties and RESPONSIBILITIES :

Reporting to the BASIS Team Lead, this SAP Solution Manager and ChaRM professional will work to migrate the enterprise to Solution Manager 7.2 in an evolutionary manner, so as not to disrupt the Monthly Maintenance and Quarterly Enhancement Release Management operational business rhythms. Primary RESPONSIBILITIES of the position include (but are not limited to):

– Provide Solution Manager O&M support for the Release Management, Process Integration, DBA, Portal, Security, Application Development and Business Intelligence Technical Teams across ECC, CRM, SRM, Portal and other managed systems

– Provide infrastructure design, installation, configuration, maintenance and support of SAP Solution Manager and ChaRM components (e.g.: Transport Management System (TMS), Enhanced Change and Transport System (CTS+), etc.) across the Production Support Landscape (PSL) and the Development Support Landscape (DSL).

– Work with the Application Life-cycle management (ALM) Team to configure, manage and enhance the Operational Control Center (OCC) monitoring processes which oversee the enterprise landscape environments.

– Support the migration of enterprise solutions to HANA in-memory computing architecture utilizing SAP Best Practices to enhance system performance and resource utilization

– Performing other SAP Basis activities including (but not limited to):

– Installing SAP application software

– Applying support package stacks

– System and Application performance tuning

– Performing SAP system copies

– Re-hosting SAP instances onto containers in a virtualized cloud environment

– Performing system backups and restores

– Planning for Disaster Recovery Scenarios

– Participate in 24×7 Operations and Maintenance call rotation support

Required Qualifications :

– Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Basis professional working in Linux server environments

– Minimum of 2 years designing and implementing Solution Manager in a complex multi-tier, multi-system landscape environment

– Experience planning, implementing and supporting SAP Solution Manager system landscapes on more than one full life cycle project

– Project management skills, including the ability to realistically assess complex technical tasks and logically organize, plan and manage small task teams

– BS/BA degree in related field

– Ability to obtain NACI Clearance

– Outstanding communication skills – includes talking, listening, and writing

– Strong interpersonal skills

– Experience working with third party vendors and service providers

– Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

– Ability to work individually ( self-motivated) and within a team environment

– Ability to communicate effectively with:

– Management – providing status information, suggesting corrective actions, and taking direction when decisions are made

– Diverse customer organizations – accepting guidance and feedback on requirements and deliverables

Desired Qualifications :

– Experience installing (or upgrading to), configuring, implementing and managing Solution Manager 7.2

– Experience working in an N+1 SAP Landscape environment

– Experience working with technical infrastructure refresh activities

– One or more of the following SAP Certifications:

– SAP Certification Technology Associate – SAP Solution Manager (Root Cause Analysis) 7.1 SP8 or later

– SAP Certification Technology Associate – SAP Solution Manager (E2E Solution Operations) 7.1 SP8 or later

– SAP Certified Support Associate – SAP HANA

– SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA 1.0

– Other relevant SAP Solution Manager or HANA Certification

– Master’s degree in related field

– Project Management Professional (PMP)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and 12 to 15 years of related experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
