Problem Solving and SO Closure

Background:

There are many issues that occur between the engineer closing the SO and the Technical Completion (TECO) of the SO. These problems have historically not been owned and were left unresolved at the end of a project delaying project completion. The SAP Coordinator owns these issues and will resolve them so the project can close when the work in the FAB is complete. Without leadership over incoming SAP coordinators the experienced issues will only increase and further delay project completion. Accurate and timely completion of these processes is essential to the ASML Business Line.

Typical Issues

Engineer SO Closure:

  • Errors registering material
  • Not promptly registering material or fail to register material
  • Returned material (serial numbers) does not match SO
  • In FAB Logistics / Material Handlers:
  • Not promptly returning material to the warehouse
  • Improper registration/receipts of material handovers to/from engineers
  • Return of unused material or lost material
  • Improper transfer of material from one SO to another

3rd Party Logistics Provider:

  • Material not processed and registered within 24 hours
  • Lost material and lost return assemblies
  • Material issue and returns with incorrect serial number registration
  • Improper registration of kits and send assemblies
  • Materials physically available locally but administratively belonging to other sites

Process Issues:

  • Parent/Child, kits, and other SAP structuring of material preventing TECO of SO
  • Bin location irregularities in SO
  • Material not in SAP and thus normal processing not possible
