Safety Manager

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is immediately seeking a Safety Manager to oversee all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) activities related to the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support provided to a Federal customer at a state of the art training facility. This full-time position inspects and maintains safety equipment and systems to ensure compliance with established standards under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and Government’s Safety Office. The Safety Manager shall adhere to all approved safety plans, policies and procedures directed by:
Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA)
National Electrical Code (NEC)
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM)
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)

Responsibilities

• Implement a suitable safety program for employees performing work under the contract; the program must be specific to the work site and identifies compliance with international, federal and state regulatory safety requirements applicable to the scope of this contract
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure that all operations under the contract are completed safely, with no adverse impact on the environment and meet all applicable international, federal, state and local regulations and standards
• Perform and prepare a written risk assessment document for all employee- related operations and work assignments under the scope of the contract to include a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for each titled position
• Perform as the on-site safety representative, who shall be available (on-call) twenty-four hours a day, seven days per week and shall be onsite within two (2) hours of notification
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree from accredited college or university
• Requires three (3) or more years of job-specific experience in an industrial or commercial facility
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certified is preferred
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with both senior management and peers
• Proficient in MS Office skills including Outlook, Excel and Word
• Proven customer service skills
• Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Ability to successfully pass security-based investigations to include general background, national agency records, and criminal records
