Web Application Developer – Lead Developer – Ruby on Rails

We are currently seeking a Rails Application Developer to join our team. If you would like to be part of a small group dedicated to creating sensible applications for our clients and be surrounded by others dedicated to their craft, this is the spot for you.

This candidate will help lead development in a variety of projects such as: PaaS & SaaS projects, video conferencing, medical, CMS, and event management software, among other projects.

We are looking for an individual interested in working with a fast-but-reasonable-paced agency (we all have families and lives) that offers opportunities to work on sweet projects – some for social good (non-profit sector), some that help companies become more efficient and effective, and some of that are in-house projects.

We love a positive attitude, a passion for service and the motivation to learn and grow in the technology field. This is an exciting position with great opportunities for an organized, motivated guy or gal.

Prefer candidates that can work on site when needed, but open to remote work if preferred.

The Work

• Assist with client requirements and develop high-level design that meets those requirements
• Implement design using company standards and methodologies
• Database design, set-up and maintenance
• Aid in the testing of applications, setup and deployment, working closely with our Network Admins
• Code maintenance on existing applications

The Skills

• 4+ years of relevant programming experience
• Preferred Programming skills in the following: Ruby on Rails, Ruby, JS
• Will Consider Programming skills in the following: PHP, .NET
• Comfortable with Agile practices and test driven development
• Knowledge of the Web and Web Server model (HTTP Request and HTTP Response)
• Some understanding of database servers and database design (SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL)
• Passionate about technology
• Self-motivation and organization skills
• Ability to work independently or collaborate with other team members
• Excellent problem solving skills with a strong desire to create exceptional work
