Ruby Developer (Ruby / PHP)

We work on a wide variety of systems: public information websites, mobile sales tools, energy usage reporting tools, and back-end loan processing software.

We are Agile but expand and contract the amount of process we follow to suit the type of work we’re doing. Our product owners have been well trained so we generally hum along pulling logically consistent stories from our queue. We architect collaboratively, pair regularly, and put strong emphasis on code reviews and quality testing. Our system is split into micro-services, which we’re moving progressively closer to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. We work regular business hours on-site with the occasional coffee shop or work-from-home day.

You are a skilled developer with:
2+ years of professional experience with Ruby and other dynamic languages, web applications, and relational databases. We primarily use Ruby and Postgres.

Experience with PHP.

Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs

Experience working in an Agile environment a plus

A strong understanding of standard libraries in your primary language, object oriented design principles, and database schema design.

Experience creating, testing, supporting, and interacting with REST APIs.

Experience with Test Driven Development and motivation to “keep the build green.”

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field (STEM) preferred
