Position Purpose :
To supervise the prompt, polite, effective and high standards of housekeeping duties as well as food and beverage service to

the satisfaction of the guests and in accordance with the company polices and procedure

Position outputs :
1.Manage Suites:
Examines the Suites to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and make recommendations to

Train Manager

Ability to select and purchase new furnishings for the Suites through the Train Manager

Implementation of promotions to increase the brand’s status and level of awareness

Consistently maintain and improve service standards for the brand.

Attending to all customer requirements and compliments

Ability to relate with Guests and personnel

Ability to lead and hold people accountable

To manage and take charge of the assets by means of creating an asset register and manage assets and in his/her care

2.Competent Rooms Personnel

  • Supervising people

3.Manage overtime expenditure

Manage The Blue Train’s database of personnel overtime

  • Develop and maintain databases for rooms Butlers
  • Manage the roster according to train occupancy
  • Sign on/off duty principles
  • Manage stock inventory

Manage and monitor inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies:

  • Perform an initial count of your inventory stock prior to every train departure
  • Communicate the status of the stock inventory to Train Manager
  • Keep goods shelved so that you implement FIFO, or first-in, first-out, inventory management
  • Stock the right amount of inventory
  • Create clear labels. Each item in your inventory should have an item number, a quantity, and a basic description
  • Identify supplier contract milestones
  • Review supplier performance against contract

Qualifications & Experience :
Unless the applicant can demonstrate that he/she has developed the necessary competencies through experience, a

Qualification (Hospitality Management) is required.

5 years’ experience working within the Hospitality and Tourism Industry
