Roles/Responsibilities of and Restaurant Marketing Director
The Restaurant Marketing Director role is to partner with the Operator to plan and execute sales-building activities that will build relationships, which will in turn accomplish these three tasks: increase customer count, grow outside sales, and maximize guest experience. ‘The RMD role is to build relationships with future guests and to strengthen the relationships with current guests. These relationships will lead to sales growth for the organization and maximize guest experience, which is an ultimate goal for the RMD and the Marketing Team. As a Leader in the organization, the RMD will be responsible for development the Organizational Marketing Plan and its execution. The RMD is the primary example to all team members ensuring all guests receive signature Chick-fil-A 2nd Mile Service. The RMD will be expected set the standard for signature service and therefore must lead by example. To do this, the RMD must actively show a passion for service and for the Chick-fil-A brand.

General Responsibilities

  • Member of High Performance Leadership Team
  • Regular meetings with Operator and HPLT Members
  • Develop a plan to ensure Emotional Connections Marketing Daily
  • Activities are 100% Emotional Connections Marketing
  • Emotional Connections Marketing Everyday – Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly
  • Focused Activities: Reflect and leverage the National Campaign
  • Budget and track marketing dollars & beverage funds

In-Restaurant Responsibilities

  • Communicate marketing plans/activities with Operator, HPLT and Team Members
  • Partners with team to ensure Real Food is being leveraged daily (sampling, whole product sampling, food distribution, lemonade product demonstration) Ensure Chick-fil-A Cow mascot is being maximized daily (cow costume, plush cows, etc.)
  • Engages Team Members and guests to be advocates for Chick-fil-A
  • Partner with Training Director to ensure suggestive selling is taking place in Restaurant
  • Ensure merchandising materials are on brand. The Restaurant look is well organized and coordinated including, POP, flowers, reader boards, promotional displays, community board, etc.
  • Oversee Family Marketing Activities (Family Nights, Kid’s Nights, etc.)
  • Partners with Operator and Team Members to activate “REMARK”able Experiences for customers
  • Partner with Operator to review marketing communication pieces and order supplies when necessary (webinars, Marketing, Resource Catalog, Campaign activation guide, etc.)
  • Leverages digital media to tell the Chick-fil-A story and create Emotional Connections with customers
  • Manage Marketing Team for two high-volume Chick-fil-A locations in the Birmingham area

In-Community

  • Ambassador for the brand and build relationships with local community members at all times
  • Oversee catering program with schools (Concession sales)
  • Implement school programs (fund-raising programs, third- party sales, spirit nights)
  • Tie-in with local community events, festivals, parades, etc.
  • Ensure Chick-fil-A Cow mascot is present in the community on a regular basis
  • Assist with market-level activations when appropriate (CAD, Market Wide Events, etc.)
  • Partner with Operator and HPLT to form a giving strategy and process for handling donation requests.
  • Partner with Operator and HPLT to maintain media/PR relationships and tell the Chick-fil-A story
