Research Analyst

The Research Analyst will be responsible for supporting the research and evaluation activities of Win’s Research and Evaluation Team. This role will focus especially on developing and maintaining data dashboards and reports on Win’s internal data network and related staff capacity building in order to support social services program management, routine reporting, and evaluation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with development of data collection tools, especially using digital data collection software (i.e., Win’s internal data collection software, SurveyMonkey, Department of Homeless Services systems, etc.);
  • Develop and conduct trainings and webinars to educate social services staff on data collection and reporting on the Win IMPACT Network;
  • Assist with the development of program-specific dashboards and reports, develop report specifications, and liaise with Information Technology (IT) to actualize dashboards and reports;
  • Run routine quality control diagnostics to ensure data collection tools and reports are functioning correctly;
  • Troubleshoot data collection and reporting challenges voiced by program staff, and liaise with IT to address such issues as they arise;
  • Develop data tables, charts, graphs, and infographics for internal and donor reporting using Win’s data collection and dashboard system;
  • Routinely monitor dashboard to ensure all reports are up-to-date and continuously improve dashboard aesthetics, etc;
  • Assist with data analysis and report writing;
  • Assist with the development of presentations;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field.
  • Experience with research methods and data management, data analysis (including basic statistics), and data visualization.
  • Experience with online data collection tools (SurveyMonkey, Open Data Kit, etc.).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau or other similar data visualization tools).
  • Familiarity with any statistical program (SPSS, SAS, STATA or R) and/or willingness to learn SPSS.
  • Familiarity with PSP or other programming languages a plus.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to share knowledge and teach others.
  • Ability and strong interest in communication through creative visualizations to audiences with varying degrees of technical sophistication.
  • Interest in professional development toward future employment in research and evaluation and/or use of research to improve human services and public policy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and general Internet and electronic communications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow directions. Highly organized and great under pressure, capable of multi-tasking in fast paced environment.
  • Familiarity or interest in working with homeless services, policies and data systems.
