Real Estate Corporate Banking Credit Products Analyst

Job Description:

The Real Estate Corporate Banking Credit Products Analyst plays a key role in sponsor and transaction underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and performance reporting for loan and loan equivalent exposure to large corporate commercial real estate clients, including REITs, real estate fund sponsors, and public homebuilders. The RECB Analyst works alongside Credit Products Officers and product partners from Corporate and Investment Banking, Loan Syndications, Risk, Treasury Management, Traded Products, Legal, and others, with a focus on bilateral and syndicated credit facilities as well as other products that generate credit exposure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analysis of financial statements, cash flows, capital structures, and commercial real estate assets / portfolios and deal structures to produce Deal Screening Memos (DSMs), Credit Approval Memos (CAMs), Interim Monitoring Documents (IMDs), Risk Rating Scorecards (RRSCs) and other required Credit Products documents on a timely basis
  • Proficient use of Credit Products tools and systems, including Credit Pricing Tool, Risk Rating Scorecards, Navigator, Workplace, Credit Studio, Regulatory Toolkit, Flood Toolkit, and Mark-to-Market Assessment of Relationship Credit, in support of new deals, portfolio monitoring, and performance reporting and data integrity requirements
  • Solid understanding of capital and client profitability concepts, including modeling credit and relationship returns, in support of risk / return considerations
  • Knowledge of key credit policy concepts, including Commercial Real Estate Banking Credit Policy, Commercial Real Estate Banking Procedures, Approval Grids, Industry Risk Guidance, and Portfolio Underwriting Variances and Analytics
  • Comprehension of fundamental legal concepts as they relate to deal structures
  • Familiarity with key regulatory concepts, including Regulation W, High Volatility Commercial Real Estate, Structured Leveraged Transactions, and Leveraged Obligors

Requirements:

  • Demonstrates commitment, personal responsibility, strong communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks at a time, teamwork, and a strong desire to grow and develop
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, real estate or similar
  • Work experience in finance or commercial real estate a plus
