Quality Test Engineer I

This is a position on the Insurance Quality Assurance Team. The candidate hired into this position will spend his / her time working on both software development and testing activities, based on the current priorities and needs of the team.

The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of software development and QA processes, a willingness and interest to learn new things, and a desire to explore opportunities to enhance existing processes and methodologies.

This is an entry-level position in Quality Engineering that is responsible for learning QA methodologies and writing automation software to test our applications.

QUALIFICATIONS :

BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required

TECHNICAL SKILLS :

Programming Knowledge in Java/Python/SQL/Karate.

Knowledge of Behavioral driven development framework.

Basic understanding of functional testing.

Basic understanding of root cause analysis.

Ability to assist with process improvement and compliance.

Ability to actively participate in project review discussions.

Willingness to learn and suggest process improvements

Solid problem solving and analytical skills

Good attention to detail.

Ability to work independently or on a team with minimum supervision and show high level of ownership

Basic oral and written communication.

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Assist with process improvement and compliance to successfully and consistently deliver high-quality software products and services on a timely basis.

Work across teams to enhance quality functional testing by identifying and helping to implement initiatives that will improve capability and efficiency.

Ensure results of root cause analysis are addressed.

Participate in project reviews.

Escalate issues and decisions to senior QA team members.
