Quality Assurance Engineer

Summary:
Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and training of others in the use of various quality related tools and activities to support and advance the quality management processes.

Duties (but not limited to)

  • Interface with customers and suppliers on quality related issues.
  • Investigate identified problems using 8D Team Oriented Problem Solving or other proven problem solving techniques.
  • Implement inspection plans, gauging techniques, procedures/work instructions, visual aids and other shop floor based documented quality reporting methods.
  • Maintenance and Adherence to AS9100 Quality Management System
  • Interprets prints, drawings and specifications
  • Complete and train others in using various quality planning and related tools including Advanced Product Quality Programs, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Process Control Plans, Process Flow Charts and other associated customer submission paperwork.
  • Evaluate new product requirements as part of the contract review process.
  • Design and implement gauging used to be utilized to measure and control processing of products through various manufacturing processes.
  • Track and analyze various data and prepares quality related reports, charts, graphs utilizing computers and various software packages.
  • Use and train others in the use of various statistical techniques including machine or other capability studies, Statistical Process Control, gauge capability studies, Design Of Experiment.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an appropriate discipline (Engineering preferred) or seven or more years’ experience in a related/similar assignment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 systems.
  • Quality Assurance experience with manufacturing aerospace designated components/assemblies.
  • ASQ Certification as a Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Three or more years of metal manufacturing experience..
  • Machining and inspection of machined parts
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and various Quality Management Systems Software.
