Quality Assurance Analyst, Tech Lead

About the Role :

In this position, you will work in a fast paced software quality assurance environment and will work directly with mainframe applications. You will support quality assurance for our clients, who include some of the largest lenders in the United States. In this hands-on technical quality assurance role, you will help Fiserv to deliver the next generation lending experience for our clients.

We are looking for an individual contributor with a passion for software quality and a drive for results with a proven track record. The candidate will be involved in the full software development life cycle with primary focus on developing test plans, test scripts and automated testing.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

  • Define, develop, review and execute test plans based on software project specifications for projects which are technical in nature (web services, browser testing, etc.)
  • Perform defect testing of production support or project issues corrected by the development team
  • Coordinate with the off shore QA team for automated regression test scripts and analyze/investigate the results
  • Improve upon technical solutions for the automation of testing or an increase in productivity and eliminate the need for manual testing
  • Maintain and prepare automated testing scripts
  • Explore with peers and recommend and implement methods to continually improve automation suite
  • Resolve technical issues related to our automated test scripts
  • Provide guidance to on shore and off shore QA team members and other cross-functional team members regarding automation tests
  • Schedule data migrations and file conversions for our QA test environments
  • Perform periodic data refresh of our test environments
  • Schedule nightly testing cycles in cooperation with our Operations team
  • Promote business and technical education to train across the LoanServ team
    • Identify skills and knowledge gaps
    • Eliminate single points of failure by executing detailed training plans on identified gaps
  • Participate in project walk thru meetings and learn/study upcoming changes to prepare in advance for changes to automation
  • Implement any new automation scripts required for product changes
  • Create and Maintain detailed user level documentation for all processes and automated scripts
  • Identify high impact areas of product quality and determine solutions for minimizing risk
  • Adhere to all CMMI standards
  • Help define and tweak quality metrics, acceptance criteria, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and cross-functional team to perform impact analysis and root cause analysis; remove team impediments and respond to QA questions
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter and willing to work independently and learn
  • Creative problem-solving ability, allowing the individual to identify solid solutions to challenging business issues

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science or equivalent education in a related discipline is required.
  • 5+ years of software industry experience, either as a developer or QA analyst
  • Ability to write detailed test plan, test scripts and document and track defects
  • Ability to create, maintain, debug or update automated tests
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience dealing with 3rd party integration partner testing
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • In depth knowledge of software development lifecycles
  • Strong team player yet able to work with minimum supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on a mainframe with knowledge of the following is highly desired:
    • TSO
    • VSAM
    • File Manager
    • CICS
    • Endeavor
    • Cobol
    • JCL
  • Actual experience working for a Lender / Loan Servicer
  • Experience using Visual Studio Test Professional for automation of test cases
  • Experience with Web Service tools such as SoapUI/Esclipe or SoapSonar
  • Experience with Selenium, AppScan or Fortify tools
  • Experience with TFS and Microsoft Test Manager
  • QA certifications
    • International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)
    • Certified Software Tester (CST)
    • Certified Software Tester Associate (CSTA) Travel Required :
  • 10% Travel Required
