Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Analyst II has primary responsibilities for ensuring the quality of our software prior to delivery to the user and/or other partners. The position involves close interaction with management, development, project managers, vendors, partners and business analysts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality of business critical software that are both external and internal facing
  • Understand business process, design and development activities in order to understand test requirements and facilitate test automation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, business partners and developers throughout SDLC to promote quality
  • Actively participate sprint grooming/planning or requirement reviews, test execution and retrospectives or Lesson learned activities
  • Assist with the test strategy based on business functions and the system technical architecture
  • Verify, track and close issues resolved during the release cycle
  • Analyze project specifications, software requirements specifications, and software prototypes, and interact with software developers and SMEs to plan and develop test cases
  • Create and execute test plans, test cases, defects, estimation and status reporting (manual and automated)
  • Write detailed test cases that could be ran by yourself and other testers.
  • Manage defects from creation to root cause
  • Work and follow directions from upper testers and mentor lower level of testers
  • Experience with some languages to test: VB, C#, C++, Java, SQL, Soap, XML, other Web Service
  • HP ALM and TFS experience or understanding
  • Automation experience with running UFT or a like tool (scripting and frame work is a plus)
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Qualifications

  • 2-4 years software testing experience with web, mobile, or database applications
  • Strong communication skills required to communicate to both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail in communication and work products
  • Expert technical aptitude, organization, analysis, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Srtong SQL skills to be able to mine data from database
  • Experience testing of web services including Soap, Rest and tools associated
  • Scripting understand of automation regression testing tools (HP, Selenium, etc)
  • Understanding of QA Methodology in multiple SDLC methods (Agile, Waterfall, Kanban)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably with emphasis on Computer Science or related field; or equivalent, relevant work experience

  • Work Environment / Physical Demands

    This position is in a typical office environment, which requires prolonged sitting in front of a computer. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including operation of standard computer and phone equipment. May have occasional high stress when dealing with customers/clients.
