Python developer

Description:

In the Consumer Products Division at IDT, we are passionate about developing software and systems knowledge to help our customers solve big problems (synchronization of communications systems using 1588) on a small scale (embedded computing environments). We use a disciplined Agile development environment where the development team is able to work with business stakeholders to flexibly meet business goals and comply with industry standards.

We are looking for a Python developer who can demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and succeed with an assigned task. As an experienced developer you should be able demonstrate from your experience, a working knowledge of development technology such as

• Python language fundamentals
• Maintaining Python across multiple versions, especially V2.x and V3.x
• Object oriented design
• Design patterns
• Unit testing
• Test driven development
• Continuous Integration
• Refactoring
• Maintaining clean code

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain build system
  
  • Collaborate with development team to understand build system requirements
  • Implement unit tests
  • Apply object-oriented design
  • Implement build system changes
  • Monitor build system and test success via Continuous Integration environment
• Implement and maintain production Python code
  
  • Enhance existing code to work simultaneously within both V2.x and V3.x
  • Implement business value on a sprint by sprint basis
  • Implement unit tests
  • Apply object oriented design

Qualifications Requirements:

5+ years of relevant industry experience required.
