Position Scope:
IGNW is looking for Professional Services Engineers – Puppet SDP to join our growing PS team! In this role, you’ll help our Puppet customers succeed through Pilots, POCS, training, adoption and consulting, as well as further Puppet’s product growth with direct customer feedback.

As part of our Professional Services team, you will work with our customers to design and implement Puppet and similar automation solutions that help them deliver software faster and more reliably. In addition, you will be responsible for providing support to clients who use Puppet, Presales to the IGNW team, and developing and promoting integration and tooling around Puppet products. As an IGNW Professional Services Engineer, you’ll also develop blog posts and other communication for IGNW, and work with our Product Management teammates to develop products and services for clients around Puppet and other.

Requirements:

• Experience with Puppet or other configuration management tools.
• Unix and/or Linux Sys Admin or DevOps background, including automation
• Strong customer relations & presentation skills – must be able to speak well in front of an audience and with customers
• Excitement about working within the Puppet community
• Passion for problem solving
• Ability to do the work and communicate the work inside the client environment
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Technical degree (CS/IT/Eng/ITSec) or equivalent experience
• Requires logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Requires contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, virtual meetings, VOIP or otherwise) and the ability to work and interact in a group or team

• Puppet Certified, a plus
• Requires the ability to travel up to 75% (primarily domestic & potentially internationally)
• Requires the ability to perform physical activities, including walking, standing, lifting items up to 35 lbs. and/or using, handling and controlling tools
• A criminal background check is part of the employment hiring process.
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred but not required:

• Puppet SDP Program Experience big plus
• Programming skills (Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.)
• Windows systems administration experience, including Microsoft PowerShell
• Large scale infrastructure experience
• Knowledge of data center management, systems management, and monitoring, networking & security
• Professional services experience in an open source/enterprise software company
