Property Management Accountant

The primary responsibilities of the Property Accountant will include working with Colliers’ clients to keep them informed of their assets through financial reporting. Properties must be closed out and adhere to the strict deadlines as dictated by the client/owners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountant
  • Accounts Receivable – make deposits, post checks & Maintain tenant accounts
  • Accounts Payable – enter invoices & print checks
  • Rent rolls – maintain accurately
  • General Ledger – journal entries & account analysis
  • Cash Management – cash flow projections, watch cash balances
  • Financial Statements
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Annual work papers for review by auditors
  • Annual property budgets
  • Quarterly property re-forecasts
  • Capital expenditures
  • Special client requested work and/or reports
  • Miscellaneous – filing, copying etc.
  • Computer Skills
  • Excel
  • Timberline
  • YARDI – Voyageur
  • Nexus

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting and a minimum 3-5 years of similar experience (similar field) required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to check numbers and find the logic behind other accountant’s numbers for forecasting and budget work.
  • Ability to manage workload and adhere to multiple deadlines at the same time.
  • Ability to sit and perform data entry for long periods of time.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude & strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to make process improvements/suggestions with regard to work flow and process.
  • Ability to check other team members’ work for errors and accuracy as needed.
  • Good written and oral communications to communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, in collaboration within the Accounting and Property Management departments.
