Project Management Trainee

The Project Management Trainee will work directly with the Business Process Analyst and the Business Process Excellence team to support the key initiatives of project management.

The major component of this position is to manage a project focused on the shelf life requirements for a specific portfolio of products. This project manager will work with the Research and Development team, outside third party testing partners and Supply Chain. This job holder will learn about the Morton Salt network, and will become knowledgeable of the key attributes of the Morton Salt master data processes. This role will also gain an understanding of multiple elements within a Supply Chain network, Research and Development, Marketing and Quality. This assignment will also provide exposure to SAP and Business Intelligence.

Responsibilities:
Lead project tasks associated with the Material Master Data, specifically tasks focused on shelf life

Partner with the R&D team for direction on categorizing materials

Partner with Procurement to establish a contract with an outside testing partner

Partner with Quality to standardize the upload of data into SAP

Coordinate with the warehousing team for sample requests for testing

Utilize the Business Process Management Nomenclature for documenting the shelf life process

Learn to use SAP and BI/BW database for pulling data and will know the basics of info cube structure and filtering fields to customize the output.

Responsible for creating an individual development plan based on education aspiration and goals.

Participate in regular project team meetings to review development milestones and learnings in a one on one atmosphere. Make adjustments to development plan based on Trainee knowledge and interest.

At the end of the Program, the Trainee will present project findings/results to specific teams within the project.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in progress, degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management or Supply Chain and Logistics preferred

Prefer a 3.0 GPA or higher

Ideal Candidate would be a rising Junior or Senior

Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills, including ability to create pivot tables

Strong organizational skills

Strong follow through and follow-up skills

Comfortable working in an open work environment, with flexible work space

Strong Desire to learn and be challenged

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Able to maintain strong positive business relationships

Able to work independently as well as across functions or in cross functional team structures

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and review data with detail and accuracy

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to construct well-written documents/presentations that translate data into insights and provide the appropriate level of detail

Able to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Displays great integrity, trust and an interest in all areas, in addition to continuous learning about the industry and company
