Programming Coordinator

Work with the Programming team to assist in strategic scheduling of all assigned sports properties, including direct oversight of the construction and maintenance of certain specific program schedules.

Handle all NCS and Content Scheduler work for assigned sports properties, including ratings, scheduling, event information, Approved Program Factsheets, etc.

Supply internal stakeholders and senior management with detailed information including event prep materials, program and ratings information and manage communication as needed.

Work hand-in-hand with the Program Scheduling, Marketing, Digital, Production and Communications teams to forge and implement effective programming, promotional and social media strategies.

Manage and/or acquire new content related to assigned sports properties which will allow for deeper acquisitions and external rights holder interaction.

Interact with external partners to fulfill requests, supply information and manage communication as needed

Serve as an integral member of the Programming Department at large to contribute to the overall content and scheduling strategy for the company across products and platforms.

Proactively contribute innovative ideas to continue to grow our business.Create presentations and assist in negotiation prep work as assigned.

Two years of experience in a professional work setting.

Strong overall sports knowledge, with emphasis on the tennis, golf, boxing and motor sports categories.

Proficient computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office suite and current social media platforms

General knowledge of the sports media industry.

Strong communication skills. Highly organized and efficient person.

Two years of work experience in the sports media industry, television programming, production of content (written or video) and/or sports league/team/college conference environment.

General familiarity with reading and comprehending legal contracts, as well as media and footage rights

Basic understanding of TV and digital audience measurement.

Interest in the digital media landscape (e.g., social, GIFs, OTT, DTC, etc.)

General familiarity with the rules, leagues/teams/countries/individuals and business landscape of tennis, golf, motor sports, combat sports, rugby and cricket.

Knowledge of NCS system a plus.

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, business, sports management or a related field.

The Programming Coordinator supports the ESPN Tennis, Golf, NHL, Motor Sports, Combat Sports and Drone Racing Programming team on the day-to-day scheduling, acquisition and management of tennis, golf, boxing, motor sports, BASS, robotics, cricket, rugby, and other assigned sports properties; contributes to the strategic scheduling of that content across all ESPN TV and digital platforms to maximize viewership and revenue; works collaboratively across all ESPN departments and with external rights holders to fulfill contracts and achieve established company/team priorities and goals.
