Cambia Health Solutions is seeking a qualified Programmer Analyst to join the Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) team.
The EBI team provides support to all areas of the organization in both analytical and technical capacities. The Programmer Analyst plays a critical role in building and supporting technical processes and software projects for and on behalf of the EBI team.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Requirements
  • Support EBI and its internal and external customers by providing valuable insights, implementing ETL processes, and automating essential business tasks.
  • Maintain and develop new and existing data processes and software projects.
  • Identify new areas of opportunities to implement innovative solutions.
  • Work with other technical and non-technical analysts, business users, and leadership to support goals and meet deadlines.
  • Create and maintain documentation of business and technical processes.
  • Develop, test, review, deploy, and maintain custom software applications, SQL scripts and functions, and ETL software projects.
  • Learn the mechanics of Cambia data systems, healthcare data, and healthcare business practices.
  • Grow professional skills and knowledge, and contribute to helping others grow their own.
  • Understand HIPAA requirements and follow best practices for protecting patient health and personal information

Required Skills
  • Effective and demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively over multiple mediums with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Proficient writing complex SQL queries, functions and procedures.
  • Understanding of basic programming concepts and experience programming in at least one language.
  • Proven ability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to maintain a collaborative attitude.
  • Able to effectively adapt to changing technologies and methodologies and apply them to technological and/or business needs.
  • Able to interpret business requirements and manage an iterative development workflow.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with end users to identify issues and implement solutions.


Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency with Oracle, GreenPlum/PostgreSQL, and SQL Server database management systems.
  • Python scripting and software development experience, specifically with data-driven applications.
  • Experience with healthcare data and understanding healthcare business processes.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or similar, OR
4+ years job-related work experience with 2+ years in healthcare and healthcare business processes, OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience
