Production Technician 2

The Production Technician is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment in a safe manner, routine maintenance, computerized reporting of production data, conducting in-process and final inspections, and development of process and quality documentation.

: Monday – Thursday, Day Shift 5:00am-3:30pm

: Cornelius Pass Instrument Cell


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Produce parts that meet Acumed’s high quality standards. Read, understand, and follow SOP’s and WI’s.
  • Operate equipment and maintain efficient production within the cell. May be trained in weld, epoxy and/or assembly, inspection, and laser welder.
  • Complete individual finishing projects on a timely basisPerform preventive maintenance of equipment with limited supervision.
  • Accurately enter information into manufacturing data gathering system (SAP).
  • May perform set-up and in-process inspections, including dimensional, functional, and visual inspections per established Work Instructions and procedures with limited supervision. Reports all quality issues if aproblem is identified or suspected.
  • May operate various CNC equipment under proper guidance.
  • Trains temporary or new-hire personnel.
  • Must be able to work in a minimum of two production areas with minimal supervision.
  • Actively participates and support continuous improvement in assigned production areas.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year of external production and or/finishing experience that is equivalent to Acumed processes.
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read, understand and complete all paperwork.
  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gage pins and other inspection equipment.
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to keep an organized, neat and clean work environment. Self-motivated and able to work with general supervision.
  • Ability to work and participate with multiple different teams in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and detail oriented.
  • Prompt and regular attendance.
  • Ability to interpret basic blueprints and drawings as required by process.
  • Ability to operate various CNC equipment as directed under general supervision.
  • Must have a minimum of 12 months experience working in a Production Technician 1 role.
  • Successful completion of assigned training program(s) which align with duties of the position.
  • Successful completion and sign-off of training checklist to demonstrate proficiency in a minimum of two Production Areas.
