Process Engineer

Our firm is searching for an experienced Process Engineer to lead project startup of a new biotech manufacturing facility. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineer that enjoys working in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing or engineering operations experience. Project / plant startup experience is a plus, but not required.

The Process Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and approving engineering design documents, with the main focus on downstream process equipment (chromatography skids, columns, UF/DF skids, buffer prep tanks). The Engineer will lead the startup and commissioning of process equipment, working closely with the Engineering Manager, Automation Lead, and Project Manager.

• Review and approve process equipment submittals including isometric drawings, instrument and component lists, specifications, P&IDs, layout drawings, etc.
• Draft commissioning protocols for process equipment

• Execute commissioning protocols

• Draft Standard Operating procedures and Preventative Maintenance plans for equipment

• Manage project schedule and budget for assigned equipment

Desired skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline required (Master’s preferred)
• Excellent eye for detail
• Must be comfortable with a fast paced environment and delivering results on tight timelines
• 4+ years process engineering or manufacturing desired
• Good communication skills

This position has the possibility of being either 1) a contractor for 6-12 months, then brought on full time by the client, 2) full time from the client at the onset, 3) full time as a contractor

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $75,000.00 to $150,000.00 /year
