Position Specific Description

Smile; you’ve found us! NextEra Energy Inc. and Florida Power and Light are seeking a principal architect for our Data Protection Team. In this role you will be part of the team responsible for SAN administration, backup and data protection administration, and third level support. You will be in a senior position leading the support and implementation of IBM and EMC SAN/storage and data protection products such as IBM SVC, EMC VMAX and EMC VPLEX. You can expect to add value by designing, building, and configuring SAN hardware and software utilizing Brocade technology. You will also serve as a technical escalation point for technicians and customers. You can expect to be troubleshooting hardware, system and application issues. The operating system environment is a mix of AIX, Windows 2003/2008/2012, VMWare and Linux.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain SAN infrastructure
Coordinate with vendors on software and hardware issues / needs
Lead architecture, design and implementation of enterprise and large scale multi-platform back-up solutions
Lead and support projects to upgrade existing infrastructure and/or deploy new systems to increase performance and/or capacity
Coordinate with on-site customer technical management on backup operations, projects, and issue resolution
Respond and resolve escalated customer issues
Perform On-Call duties 24×7 as necessary

The position reports directly to the IT Technology Leader with work locations available in Miami-Dade or Juno Beach for the right candidate.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Gains organizational commitment for all high-level architecture plans
Initiates and participates in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans
Produces documented frameworks, architectures and plans how to manage the implementation and integration of a technical environment
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

High School Grad / GED
Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
