Position Specific Description

Smile you’ve found us! At NextEra Energy, our people are our biggest asset and our Information Technology team is seeking an IT Infrastructure Technical Services Manager to join the organization.

This role is responsible for managing, evaluating, and monitoring a unique IT organization that provides day-to-day 24×7 operational desk side (LAN) and network (WAN) support for all utility sites throughout the state of Florida as well as the NextEra Energy Resources (NEER) sites throughout the U.S., Spain and Canada. The organization also provides a significant amount of project deployment resource support for various IT and Business Unit integrations, as well as voice and data integration for construction activities. Organization plays a critical support role for all emergency related events (primarily Hurricane response), all PSC related activities as well as Executive support in our main campus locations as well as Tallahassee and Washington DC. The position leads an organization of 60-65 exempt employees and contractors dispersed geographically throughout the state. Has fiscal responsibility for five million dollars of O&M and approximately one million dollars of Capital.

Job Overview

This position oversees and provides technical guidance for planning, directing , and monitoring information systems infrastructure (e.g. physical network, hardware and centralized help desk ). Employees in this role plan and recommend modifications to equipment and/or to system capacity. Successful candidates manage professional employees and/or managers and are accountable for the performance and results of one or more related disciplines.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to managers
• Provides guidance and expertise, policy-level direction, and leadership to the workgroup
• Provides technical guidance to employees and / or customers
• Develops departmental plans, including business, production and / or organizational priorities, to address business and operational challenges
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED
• Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
• Experience: 8+ years
• Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
