This position is only open to Colorado state residents.

The Department of Personnel & Administration (DPA) provides the infrastructure by which the rest of state government operates. Description of Job

This position is part of the Accounting and Administrative Unit that ensures the financial integrity of Central Collection Services systems and records. Duties include:

Enters information in the system

Interacts with clients, customers and staff to adjust records as appropriate

Provides support to staff in the Accounting and Administrative Unit

Develops desk procedures for this position and two other accounting technician positions

Serves as back up to the two other accounting technician positions

Serves as a liaison between private collections agencies, client agencies and Central Collection Services

Assists clients with accounting reconciliation of their accounts

Enters and reviews general accounting expense documents in the state’s financial system for client payments and debtor refunds.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of technical accounting experience.

OR

Two years of college, university or non-correspondence business school which included eighteen (18) semester credit hours of accounting can substitute for up to two years of the required experience.

Conditions of Employment

A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Felony convictions or conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from being considered for this position. Should your background check reveal any charges or convictions, it is your responsibility to provide the Department of Personnel & Administration’s Human Resources Unit with an official disposition of any charges.

Former employees of the State of Colorado MUST have concluded employment in good standing to be eligible for rehire.

APPEAL RIGHTS:
If you receive notice that you have been eliminated from consideration for the position, you may protest the action by filing an appeal with the State Personnel Board/State Personnel Director within 10 days from the date you receive notice of the elimination.
