PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT COORDINATOR PATIENT SAFETY(Job Id 2437)

Summary:
Facilitates the safety event analysis process, as well as other patient safety performance improvement activities and teams within the Gwinnett Hospital System. Supports triage, analysis and action planning for serious safety events, and other events as deemed appropriate by senior leadership and the director of PI. Assists in identifying and prioritizing other safety and PI opportunities within the organization. Designs PI/safety projects, coordinates and/or performs data collection, analyzes and reports/interprets data results using statistical process control. Develops and facilitates implementation of action plans and documents project steps/outcomes. Plans and facilitates initiation of interventions, both collaboratively and independently. Supports system-wide accreditation/regulatory survey readiness.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related clinical field, required. Master’s Degree, preferred.

At least three years experience the hospital or healthcare setting.

At least three years Quality management, performance improvement, or risk management experience, to include event investigation, cause analysis and/or human factors engineering, preferred.

Proven project management skills in a complex healthcare environment.

Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication, problem solving and team facilitation skills, required.

Evidence of interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with a wide variety of constituents.

Ability to develop recommendations and provide consultation to solve problems related patient safety and organizational compliance; ability to exercise judgment in interpreting and applying standards, policies and procedures.

Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified Project Manager, Lean/Six Sigma or other relevant certification preferred.
