People & Culture Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is a member of our Fuerst Group People & Culture (P&C) team serving as business partner for KEEN, Inc., Chrome Industries, and other brands and companies within the Fuerst Group family. The People & Culture Manager provides expert advice and counsel to leaders and employees with regard to all aspects of human resources, including, but not limited to, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and end of employment activities. This position works closely with all members of the P&C team to support generalist functions such as onboarding, compliance, compensation, benefits, policies and procedures and recordkeeping.

KEY RESPONSIBIILTIES:

  • Provides day-to-day direction and/or support for people and culture programs, policies, procedures, and plans across all P&C disciplines such as recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, compensation, performance management, succession planning, employee relations, benefits, and employment practices and procedures.
  • Provides employee relations counseling including performance improvement plans, goal development assistance, and complaint investigation.
  • Identifies training needs and develops/coordinates training for employees on various topics including management, compliance, and cultural training.
  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various company policies, procedures, programs, laws, standards, and government regulations.
  • Works closely with P&C Specialist to maintain a relevant and meaningful onboarding platform; constantly improves and amends process to ensure onboarding activities are aligned with brand culture.
  • Manages the Annual Review Process. Works closely with P&C Operations team to process merit and market adjustments as well as bonus payments.
  • Works closely with the Payroll team to ensure timely and accurate payment of wages.
  • Learns, understands, and respects the unique cultures across Fuerst Group companies and adapts P&C activities accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in related field; HR Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources with an emphasis on employee relations, training and development.
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Working knowledge of HR disciplines, including benefits, compensation, recruitment, employee relations, HRIS and training as well as related practices, laws and regulations.
  • Ability to engage all members of the workforce and build trust and credibility with management and senior leadership; ability to influence at varying levels throughout the organization.
  • A natural inclination to interact with a variety of people socially and professionally. Ability to interact successfully with all levels within the companies and with colleagues outside the company and adapt style and approach based on company culture
  • Demonstrated ability to employ a strategic approach to all aspects of human resources.
  • Ability to solve problems with high energy and a positive attitude. Extensive experience in conflict management, coaching and giving/receiving feedback.
  • Experience working in a multi-state organization with multiple business units preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational, follow-up and customer service skills as well as proven decision making expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and maintain confidentiality with employees at all levels.
  • Comfortable presenting to small and large groups.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with HRIS/HRMS. Willingness to learn additional software applications as required.
  • Ability to sit or use the computer for the majority of the work day.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally travel domestically and internationally.
