Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing multi-frequency payroll cycles for the corporate headquarters and company owned restaurants. This position is also expected to provide the highest level of customer service to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Professional Experience: 1-2 years payroll experience a preferred. Knowledge of Infinium AS400 a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles for corporate headquarters and company owned restaurants. This includes, but is not limited to: standard payroll cycles, interim runs, bonus payments, severances, terminations/layoffs, LOAs, and disability payments.
  • Ensure payroll transactions are completed and delivered timely and accurately.
  • Ensure accuracy of payroll records by reviewing updates in status change, tax withholding, benefit deductions, time off accruals, retro payments.
  • Review and process payroll adjustments, including vacation, sick, and other time off.
  • Works cross-functionally with HRIS, Total Rewards, Field HR, SRI Operations, Legal and IT to align business requirements.
  • Audit, verify and post all payroll data to the HR/Payroll-system.
  • Answer payroll service center calls and process customer requests via payroll tracking system.
  • Submit daily direct deposit files and works with Treasury to ensure the funds are released to the bank.
  • Process wire transfer and ACH forms, as needed, and submit to Treasury.
  • Prepare gross to net calculations, audit, and balancing.
  • Set up manually issued pay cards as needed, including funding or transferring of funds between pay cards.
  • Responsible for setting up employee direct deposit information, accurately, and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with balancing and submitting information to third party vendors relating to garnishment disbursements, electronic pay stub files, etc. Review and process garnishment lien files submitted to us by 3rd party vendor.
  • Assist Payroll Tax Accountant in processing the weekly tax payments, as needed.
  • Maintain production records, timesheets, and other payroll related records.
  • Process and reconcile time cards to ensure accurate and timely running of corporate payroll.
  • Maintain the payroll department working manuals and job aids for accurate processing procedures.
  • Participate in on-going payroll application testing, as needed.
  • Partner with third party vendors as needed (ADP, FirstData, etc.).
  • Maintain the Partnernet Payroll page.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
