The Payroll Director is responsible for managing a team of payroll professionals and is accountable for the accurate and timely processing of the company’s multi- state payroll, processing and management of garnishments, and maintaining and reporting payroll taxes.
You will also manage the overall day-to-day payroll functions including, payroll processing, payroll taxes, reviewing and revising policies and procedures, internal controls, and system review.

Responsibilities:

• Directly manage payroll operations (payroll processing and garnishments) and payroll tax (multi-state and federal payroll tax functions) functions to ensure all payroll processes and responsibilities are being accurately achieved, completed in a timely manner and are in compliance with federal and state regulations, including payment processing, payroll tax and garnishment; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Sarbanes Oxley by developing and maintaining a robust system of internal controls and processes.

• Design and implement proper segregation of duties, controls, and internal self-audits. Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures, and develop/maintain payroll disaster recovery methodology.

•Partner with Compensation & Benefits, HRIS, Equity, Finance and Accounting teams to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and compliance of reporting and data integrity.
Collaborate closely with BKFS US and India HR and payroll to ensure a comprehensive approach to HRIS policies, processes and controls, and to identify and implement improvements.

•Lead operational effectiveness initiatives and the development of service level metrics and end-to-end controls for payroll processes with a culture of continuous improvement. Facilitate development of payroll project plans and schedules relating to ongoing enterprise-wide and internal enhancement projects.

• Accountable for audit and compliance support, vendor management, service delivery excellence, and governance with key business partners to support the design, implementation and operational delivery of optimized payroll processes and enabling continuous improvement of the employee/customer experience.

• Foster employee engagement within the team to develop high performing employees: Build a positive work environment that encourages teamwork. Retain and develop employees through training, career development, and timely reward and recognition. Regularly provide coaching and mentoring sessions that promote employee performance and development, creating a motivational and rewarding environment which promotes continuous learning & growth.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8-10+ years relevant experience managing a payroll operations team preferably in a mid to large technology, finance and or corporate environment with multi-unit / jurisdictional payroll. Expert knowledge of payroll operations and Federal, State and local payroll laws required.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Designation preferred.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong knowledge of payroll-related compliance and reporting requirements required.
Must have experience in designing, implementing and reviewing internal controls aimed at reducing operational risk; Experience with Workday and/or implementing an HRIS preferred

•Strong analytical and project management skills with ability to effectively plan, organize and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality in a dynamic environment. Displays strategic thinking and good judgment when faced with complex or difficult situations and decisions.

• Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills, with demonstrated team leadership skills and ability to develop and motivate team members

• Strong client service mentality, with ability to develop strong working relationships with team, internal partners and vendors to deliver high quality service consistently in a professional manner
