Payroll & Benefit Plans Coordinator – Jacksonville Jaguars (Jacksonville, FL)

Summary: The Payroll & Benefits Plans Coordinator is responsible for payroll processing and associated remittances. The successful candidate will participate in reconciling payroll & benefit transactions, recording general ledger activity, maintaining benefit systems, and assisting employees. He/she must be eager to learn and possess a high attention to detail. In addition, the Coordinator must be able to follow standard procedures and work in a fast paced environment, while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, legal requirements, and NFL rules. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and integrity, along with the ability to produce quality work under tight time constraints.

JOB DUTIES

  • Responsible for payroll processing utilizing applicable payroll software, which includes preparation and

    processing of each payroll

  • Process related payments and aid in reconciliations for all health and benefits plans
  • Provide timely & accurate responses to employees when answering their payroll & benefit questions
  • Maintain attendance and PTO systems, train employees and managers on these systems
  • Data entry of new hires and terminations, salary adjustments, deductions
  • Maintain benefit plan enrollment, changes, and terminations; assist in annual benefit open enrollment process
  • Update/maintain policy and procedure manuals
  • Assist in preparing documents and reconciliations of benefit programs, for distribution and

    dissemination to third-party administrators

  • Other payroll duties to include various reconciliation/spreadsheets in Excel may be required
  • The Payroll & Benefit Director will assign other duties and projects on an as needed basis
  • Serve as backup for making tax payments and assist with meeting tax filing deadlines

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Accounting or related field
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word)
  • Experience in payroll processing or accounting preferred
  • Understanding of benefit plans and use of various provider software systems a plus

  • Customer service oriented
  • Thorough with analytical attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to perform in a team environment under pressure
