Payroll and Personnel Assistant (1012938 )

The Payroll and Personnel Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the payroll and personnel functions within the Physical Planning and Facilities Management department. Along with clerical duties, Inputs all timekeeping and personnel transactions, information, and related documents for all department employees into pertinent databases.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of computer software, and the ability to produce reports. Ability to accurately enter and evaluate data. Ability to adapt to changing situations. Excellent oral and written combination, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize assignments. Ability to make decisions and take initiative in solving problems and suggesting alternate solutions in streamlining processes. Excellent organizational skills. Proven ability to maintain detailed records.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university’s commitment to a “vision of excellence.”

Education and Experience:

Equivalent to three years of administrative support experience required. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two years of experience. Experience providing support in a payroll/personnel environment is strongly preferred. PeopleSoft experience strongly preferred. Associate’s degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
