Payroll Analyst

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Payroll Analyst based in our corporate headquarters in Daytona Beach, FL.
Manage accounting responsibilities for Pay Services / HR Department. Assist the Director with budgeting and forecasting via day-to-day recording of changes that impact reporting to the Finance department. Reports on and analyzes payroll costs and salary budget variances.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for monthly payroll forecast, position approvals and variance analysis.
Assist with the preparation of the annual budget.
Payroll cost analysis and reporting.
Prepare and / or review payroll journal entries.

Prepares monthly payroll billings .

Prepare monthly account reconciliations.

Reconcile payroll and 401k transactions.

Preparation for and management of payroll audits.

Positive Pay reporting / back-up.

Bank transactions including ACH processing and direct deposit submissions.

Preparation of annual Worker’s Compensation estimates and management of the annual Worker’s Compensation audits.

Various projects and ad-hoc reports, and other payroll accounting functions as requested by the Director, Managing Director or Vice President.

Less than 5% travel, including weekends.

Qualifications include the following:

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and 4 years related experience and/or training in Accounting / Analyst or Payroll (preferably a combination of both); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required:

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent excel skills – pivot/VLOOKUP a must

Compensation or other budgeting experience required

Accounting/Payroll background required

Preferred:

Ultipro/Cognos a plus

Must be comfortable working with and analyzing data

Must be highly organized and flexible

Ability to work in a fast paced environment
