Payroll Administrator

The Payroll Administrator at our corporate office in Carrollton, TX will support Brandt’s workforce by diligently tracking and coordinating payroll function and ably assisting department managers with any payroll issues. We are looking for a persevering and patient professional who believes that accurate and timely payroll directly impacts the well-being of our employees. The ideal candidate knows that this is not just a job, but is a critical element in Brandt’s overall success.

We trust you to:

  • Guarantee the weekly disbursement of company payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws. R eview the accuracy of weekly time cards and verify reported overtime, shift differentials and other standard pay variances with employee supervisors when needed.
  • Audit payroll balance sheets, Y-T-D earnings, etc.
  • Produce regular weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end computer-generated reports.
  • Forward weekly tax withholdings and payroll deduction monies to appropriate authorities in compliance with prescribed timelines. Update and process weekly garnishments (child support, IRS, etc.). Update and process voluntary deductions (HSA, 401(k), etc.).
  • Ensure the payroll system is continuously accurate in reflecting current employee pay profiles, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time, in line with contracts (union and non-union).
  • Set up and audit deductions for union payroll. Update scale wage changes. Prepare monthly union payroll reports, contacting union payroll representatives directly with any related questions or concerns.
  • Be an active team player, communicating with Operations, HR and Accounting to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data and task sharing.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • 4-yr. business/accounting degree is preferred
  • Minimum 4 years payroll experience, with one year in a “lead” or similar capacity
  • Advance knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws as well as wage and hour provisions
  • Must have experience with administering large company payrolls = 1,500+ employees
  • Experience with union payroll issues
  • Multi-state experience, to be effective as Brandt continues to grow
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Explicit attention to detail and ability to consistently meet payroll scheduling requirements
  • Strong MS Office skills; ability to create and modify spreadsheets in Excel
  • CPP certification preferred, we appreciate your dedication to the discipline
