Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing guidance and support to patients seeking Caris Life Sciences Molecular Intelligence testing. Patient Navigator services may include, but are not limited to, the education and approach to assist patients through the test order process, assist patients in financial responsibility efforts, identify local resources and support, assist in the communication with patients’ medical staff related to all test efforts, and provide patients with information on test results and interpretation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to establish effective, trusting working relationships with patients.
  • Educate patients on their financial responsibility and explains insurance billing.
  • Build strong relationships with healthcare teams and resource providers.
  • Exercise problem-solving and analysis skills to find creative solutions to patient barriers.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the patient records in order to continuously improve the patient services process and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide proactive communication to patients related to case concerns or issues.
  • Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures related to specific job functions.
  • Evaluate patient concerns, complaints and trends to recommend changes to accommodate patient needs. Provide trends and analytics to management on a defined basis.
  • Utilize laboratory information system, billing system and sales management software to enter, gather and analyze data.
  • Responsible for individual tasks and projects defined, directed and supported by management.
  • Meet all deliverables and goals set by department
  • Accept other duties as assigned.
  • Meet all regulatory agency requirements as they pertain to job functions.

    • Understands HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize specialty software applications for position.
    • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-past, deadline driven environment.
    • Drive for Results (Service, Quality, and Continuous Improvement) – Ensure procedures and processes are in place that lead to delivery of quality results and continually reassess their effectiveness to achieve continuous improvement.
    • Communication – Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization in order to achieve the desired results. Excellent skills in the English usage of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

  • Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience
    • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred.
    • Two to four years direct work experience in a medical office with robust patient interaction.
    • Insurance eligibility and verification experience preferred.
  • Physical Demands
    • Will work at a computer some of the time as well as need to keep inventory and ordering records requiring the use of copiers, fax machines, and PDF scanners.
    • Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
    • Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.
    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
    • May have exposure to high noise levels in the data center.
